Opera Software is looking for excellent software developers to join the Japan delivery team, which ports the Opera web browser to all kinds of connected devices.
We are working with industry leaders such as Sony, Toshiba and Sharp, and many more.
You will be part of our multicultural engineering team in the Japan office, and you will also be cooperating with other teams abroad.
Areas of Responsibilities:
-- Modify existing Opera web browser to adapt it to new hardware platform (often running embedded linux), improve its performance or correct errors
-- Develop new features
-- Participate and contribute in all parts of the software development life cycle
-- Take initiative and ensure timely delivery
Required qualifications(essential):
-- Excellent coding and design skills, particularly in C++
-- English proficiency both in writing and reading
-- Good communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility
Desired additional qualifications (ideals) (one or more):
-- Experience in embedded software development on one or more platforms, especially Linux
-- Familiarity with Web technologies and standards, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
-- Good Japanese skills
-- Ability to travel to Europe occasionally for business
